It all started after the weekend in NYC, on the drive home my eldest son developed a strange cough and a fever, and a runny nose...of course I initially was thinking this is just a cold....but no...once we went to the doctor we found out he had an ear infection and most likely RSV...which is how we discovered he is likely allergic to certain antibiotics {thankfully just a minor reaction of hives!} I thought we were all in the clear until the baby developed an eerily similar cough, runny nose, fever...and I developed a fever, general aches, sore throat...we toughed it out as long as I could, but I knew it was bad when I couldn't stand up and walk across the room 10 feet to let the dog into the house. I felt miserable...so yesterday after two doctors visits we discovered the baby has a very bad double ear infection PLUS RSV, and I have strep throat.
After not even 24 hours of antibiotics I'm already feeling so much better. So today, as I disinfect my house and hope I'm feeling more like myself soon, I want to give a huge shout out to modern medicine-scientists, doctors, nurses. Whoever discovered antibiotics: I love you. Thank you.
So, I think I might go curl up on a sofa for a few minutes...I'm looking forward to spending a few minutes with my sewing machine as soon as I feel better!
