Personalized Onesies + Stroller Blankets {Baby Gifts}

I've been on a roll making lots + lots of baby gifts. This one is for my neighbor who had a baby early last month. {A while back I shared the shower gift I made.} I try not to give gifts with a baby's name until the baby is here, and the name is set in stone...just in case.

One of my favorite, really simple gifts is a personalized onesie, with the baby's name. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut teal iron on vinyl.

My other favorite is a stroller blanket. Lately I've been loving the mustache fabric for boys.

Baby Gabriella {Baby Gifts}

I try to do something creative every day...it doesn't happen always, but it usually does. The problem is that in my fury, I don't remember to always take pictures, or sometimes I do remember to take the pictures, but then forget to share them.

A whiiiilllle ago {like off the top of my head, in June} my cousin + his wife welcomed a baby girl. She's already a few months old, but I'm just now sharing the gift I sent to them...

I love all things baby....So I especially love when a new baby is born getting to work with itty bitty onesies.

**This baby is actually number 50 in our family!! There are a LOT of us!

The trick to these onesies being so easy to make is iron on vinyl. I cut the letters out with my Silhouette machine and just iron the letters on. SO, SO easy. It takes only a couple of minutes.

I also decided to send along a little stroller blanket (it's basically a narrow blanket about I think 30x40" so it works over a car seat or stroller without dragging on the ground.) These were just fabrics I happened to have in my stash.

And just because baby Gabriella has the cutest hair, I sent along some hair clips. So, so cute. It was the first time I had made girly hair clips.

I love a new baby!

Baby Gifts {Personalized}

A while back, I shared the Baby Life Quilt. I made that amazing quilt for my college roommate's sister who was expecting her first child....well right after Thanksgiving little Norah arrived. Using some of the leftover fabric from the quilt I made a few little things that my friend gave to Norah for Christmas.

Personalized onesies:

And some personalized burp cloths:

I was thrilled to see pictures of Norah sporting her goods. She's adorable!

Crafting A.D.D.

I've had a lot going on lately, summer has been a perfect mixture of busy & relaxing...but I have been suffering from some serious crafting A.D.D. I've been sewing, quilting, building and painting...embroidering, fixing up, shopping and returning, and overall NOT cleaning. You know how it goes (or am I the only one who operates like this?

Luckily I have family visiting next Monday...which means I have a little pressure to have the house in some semblance of a presentable state. Ha. We'll see what gets done.

In the mean time, I have a million things I want to show, okay maybe not a million, but quite a few.

A few weeks ago I had a chance to get out of town and visit my brother Christian & his wife Lauren. We always have a great time together. Lauren & Christian celebrated their anniversary the day I headed home...the same day as Lauren's birthday...and they had just moved. I decided to make her a little something...a Happy New House Anni-birthday gift, if you will. This is what I came up with:

A monogrammed pouch (for diapers or stuff.) I used the very simple pattern from Jamie at That's My Letter. I also made Lauren a simple little wallet to match. (I had made her a diaper bag as a shower gift when he first son was born--she's pregnant now again--just to clarify why I'd be giving her a diaper clutch when her son is almost 2....)

I also monogrammed her some towels, since I have had my new sewing machine for half a year and am JUST learning HOW to do this:

I also included some hand towels and wash cloths just to make a full set.

While we were visiting it was great to see the kiddies play so nicely together. My eldest is turning into an opinionated mess {as most 3 year olds tend to do?} so it was nice to see he was fairly pleasant to his cousin and not a complete bully like he is with his baby brother.

It was VERY hot while we visited. So I thought I'd include some of my favorite pictures from our visit:

And here is another towel that I made, monogrammed of course:

Disney Prep

Forgive me if I've already shared this, but today I saw one of my friends is planning a birthday party for her little girl--with a Minnie Mouse theme. It reminded me that I had made these cute shirts for my other friend's daughter when they visited Disney last year.

I made these using shirts from Target and black iron-on transfer cut with my Silhouette...I made these last October. {Gulp} Yeah, over half a year ago. I guess it really has been busy around here if I'm just getting to share this now.

{I added a removable bow.}

Great Gift Idea for Growing Families

This year for Christmas I really struggled what to get for family members who don't really NEED anything {a wonderful problem!} and saw this growth chart on pinterest and knew that it was the perfect gift!

I thought these were simple, attractive, and surprisingly easy to make. I think these are also a perfect gift for military families who move frequently!!

{Hung with a simple piece of twine}

I added a simple single letter monogram using a stencil I made with my Silhouette machine. Using a measuring tape, I also added measurements every 6 inches {up to 6 1/2 feet in case the kids really spout!}

To mark growth, I included key tags on tiny clothes pins.
{key tags mark date/age information}
{I plan on adding tags every few months for years to come!}
{I made simple bags out of a scrap bed sheet to store the key tags, I used a black pen to write "grow"}

{I added a personalized label for each box)
{each growth chart set & tags fit nicely boxed!}
{Of course, I made one for our house, too}

Trucks

I purchased these trucks for my son at Target out of sheer desperation that I could have a successful shopping trip without any tantrums, high pitched squealing, or drama...best $1 (x3) I've spent in a while!

Aside from keeping my son entertained for hours and being very inexpensive, I think they are pretty darn cute.

Here are the trucks on the "grey dog road" you might have seen it on ice road truckers...so dangerous. (This picture is actually of the strange cut my son got under his nose from falling off the sofa-when will these head injuries end?!)

So I personalized them.  I had some leftover vinyl, I'm sure paint would have worked too...so simple and is it possible for these trucks to be any cuter?

Busy Busy Bee

This past weekend I was lucky enough to be child free (except if you consider the one I'm growing-then I was just toddler free.) My husband took my son out to do some Christmas shopping and I had the ENTIRE house to myself. Like any good mother, I left the messes and holed up in my sewing room.

A friend of a friend had inquired about a gift for her nephew, who is turning 1, but is going to be a University of Southern Florida fan if he likes it or not. I created a personalized fleece blanket for him and then finished the day creating wine tags for a college friend's bridal shower gift. These wine tags are such a neat idea: the bridal party purchased 12 bottles of wine for special occasions for the new couple, they created adorable poems explaining when the happy couple should share them, and then hired me to create tags...

Here's what I did this past weekend:

I think they look great, what do you think?

Now I'm going to create an adorable valance for a little girl's room. Here is the (almost finished) tag collage I made when she was born, her mom asked me to make valances because they had been discontinued from the bedding line....
