Vacation...

Hello, friends.

I'm baaack. Again. Since our move I haven't gotten back into the swing of blogging. My house is still a {somewhat} disaster. We've made LOTS of progress, but I've lost steam. We're getting there.

My family was able to get away last week and spend time with family at my in-law's lake house. It was a fantastic time. Very relaxing. I was even able to read a book! My mother-in-law was kind enough to lend me the book, The Help, a few weeks ago. I read oh, maybe 3 pages before our trip, but once I started could NOT stop reading. If you're in the market for a good book...check it out. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

So anyway, vacation, such a great chance to relax and unwind. Being lake-side is so amazing. The person who invented exterior fans is a genius! Luckily, Hurricane Lee didn't put too much of a damper on our trip. We were a little worried by the forecast of rain, but ended up stumbling upon the Marbles Children's Museum in Raleigh, NC: AMAZING. We had such a great time {yes, the adults enjoyed it too!}

Anyway, I could go on and on, but instead, here are some {of the 800+/- unedited} pictures from our trip:

{fishing with Dad}

{our son decided to stay back with Grandpa, he was scared of the boat!}

{awaiting our return on the dock}

{over his fear}

{So over his fear that he decided to go on the raft!}

{he would randomly reach up and grab my husband's sunglasses, it was so cute!}

{Daddy, giving him a little extra "ride"}

{telling us about the raft}

{grandpa with Cole}

{I do exist in photo form!!!}
{my pooch, Mason, loves the lake!}
 Here are a bunch of pictures I took of my little guy while everyone else took a boat ride:
{he is a drooly, teething mess! how did he get so big already?}

{first boat ride}

{alternative route: grandpa!}
 Here are pictures from the Marbles Children's Museum. So Much Fun!

{after the museum we hit the lake}

{this guy doesn't prefer the breeze from the boat but loves boat rides!}
 Of course the cars needed cleaning. Three generations of Bartran men participated:

{some coos and smiling for mom!}
{we could go for hours & hours!}
{how peaceful & serene!}

  1. I read The Help in about two days. Loved it. Can't wait to see the movie when it hits Netflix. Also, looks like a great and relaxing vacation.
